Window tint works through its ability to block or absorb solar radiation. When sunlight hits the window,.
tint film reflects, absorbs, or disperses the energy from the sun, dispelling the heat. There are three
main ways window tinting helps reduce heat:
1. Reflection
Many tinted films contain metalized layers that reflect solar energy. These films bounce heat away from the window, much like a mirror, so that less heat enters the room or vehicle.
2. Absorption
Other window tint types absorb solar energy instead of reflecting it. This process helps trap heat in the film, preventing it from transferring into the interior of a building or vehicle.
3. Transmission Control
Some advanced tint films, particularly ceramic films, block both infrared radiation (heat) and UV rays while still allowing visible light to pass through. This offers heat protection without overly darkening the space or vehicle interior.
